The Rushmore in New York City

The Rushmore Riverside

Those of us who aren’t intimately familiar with New York City living, hear about the prices and luxury of Manhattan and West Side Living, but what does that mean exactly?

Here’s an example of a newly built condo complex located on the Upper West Side along the Hudson River. The 16 story base of the Rushmore splits into two 43 story towers with city, park and river views. Amenities available to residents include a garden atrium, extensive fitness & wellness center, a play area for children, private theater, billiards room and a 50 ft pool for swimming laps.

You can use the services of their “lifestyle managers” who offer assistance with everything from dog walkers and childcare to party planning and reservations.

The floorplans vary from studio apartments to 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath residences. The square footage varies from 466 to 4375 square feet. The prices appear to range between 1 and 7.5 million. There is no mention of what the monthly condo fee might be.

Who can afford this lifestyle? Rumors suggest its residents include world renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman, Yankee’s Alex Rodriguez and temporary renter Robin Williams.

Temporarily renting at The Rushmore. Yet to experience the lifestyle manager — not sure this service even exists. Building needs better management. Doormen while friendly just give the cart to residents to lug their own bags to the unit. Gym is nice … 20′ pool closed from noon to three every week day. At 3 the kids are taking lessons … I would say this is a good family building since there are lots of kids and foreign friendly … lots of nationalities in the building.

  4. Thanks for your comments, very good advice for anyone considering a residence in the building.
